After laying silent for greater than 17,000 years, an historic instrument Is heard once more – a deep, plaintive bleat, like a foghorn from the distant previous. When archaeologists realised that a big conch shell found within the Marsoulas cave within the Pyrenees had been modified hundreds of years in the past to function a wind instrument, they invited a French horn participant to play the conch in a sound studio.  The horn produced clear C, C-sharp, and D notes.
